Extra hints for making the てform.

*If it follows the てform song, follow the song.
*If it doesn't follow the song, drop ます and simply add て.


For the てform, it might not be clear why 来ます and します are singled out.  They are changed the same as the Type 1 verbs for the てform, but later, you will see that their forms vary quite a bit as compared to the other verbs.  Some examples are:

来<き>ます is the ます form of "to come"
来<く>る is the dictionary form
来<こ>られる is the plain potential form
来<こ>ない is the plain negative form

します is the ます form of "to do", but the potential form is 出<で>来<き>ます.

*There's no need to remember these now, but it might help to explain why these are different from the regular verb types.
